A Mother's Love (2023)

Hogarth's drawing of the Foundling Hospital crest shows a gentle, innocent lamb holding a sprig of thyme, symbol of sacrifice and courage. 

The mothers left tokens, often as humble as a hazelnut, to identify them if they ever returned. These poignant objects speak of the invisible connection between mother and child. Annabel Pearl uses vibrant inks to draw the Foundling lamb and the museum tokens.

This card was created for the Foundling Museum by the celebrated illustrator Annabel Pearl. All proceeds support the work of the Foundling Museum.
